The Edaville Railroad opened in 1947 and is considered on the oldest heritage railroads in the United States located in South Carver Massachusetts. This railroad is also known as Edaville USA a well known family attraction for its family fun park which has been in existence for some forty years. You can enjoy special events throughout the year such as the National Cranberry Festival, the Christmas Festival of Lights and a Day Out with Thomas.
There is also a two mile train ride across a cranberry plantation which spans 1,300 acres. Families will also appreciate the Cranberry World museum, the Playhouse and amusement rides. The concept behind the cranberries is credited to the founder Ellis D. Atwood his railroad along his plantation of cranberries. Being innovative he used the railroad to haul the bogs and paying customers for sightseeing of the plantation. The same railroad which transported cranberries was used to haul sightseeing customers. Today this site has developed into a Family Fun Park with carnival rides and extravagant light displays relative to the season.
